My name is Jonathan C. W. Jones. I am the Founder and proposal coach of SCJ Consulting, LLC. I have worked in the field of education for over 25 years as an educational aid, special education teacher, instructional coach and administrator. I am an educator and social entrepreneur focused on empowering people to voice their ideas, tell their story and secure resources to do Good for their communities.
As an educator I experienced first hand a variety of inequalities in my classrooms, schools and school districts. I began researching grants to see if I could meet the needs of classroom supplies and materials to implement innovative ideas that would keep students engaged and achieving. As my grant award portfolio began to grow I started to provide professional development training for my peers so that they could address similar needs. I took the next steps to formally establish my educational consulting firm, SJC Consulting, to encourage, support, train and empower others in the community to also do Good.
SJC Consulting is focused on addressing inequalities in funding opportunities which limit organization to do Good in their respective communities. For example, educators spend an average of $500 a year on classroom supplies and materials, according to a recent report by National Center for Educational Statistics. SJC Consulting is dedicated to exploring and addressing inequities typically faced by people of color in education, philanthropy and entrepreneurship. Our blog, #Edupreneur4Good, navigates the intersections between these industries, through reflections, tips, research take aways and more.
SJC provides workshops, one-on-one coaching and consulting to engage educators, entrepreneurs and nonprofit changemakers for Good. Our work helps guide communities one workshop, one proposal and one idea at a time.
Purpose:
Giving voice to ideas for Good.
We Value:
Learning | Collaboration | Equity | Empowerment
