Hidden Brain & Unconscious Bias

Today I attended a very good presentation presented by Dr. Ramo'n A Pastrano IV, of Impact Lives, on "The Hidden Brain & Unconscious Bias". The event was a collaboration between the YMCA and the Minneapolis Rotary Club. Here are a few take aways to think on:

• We see things as we are. Not as they may actually be.
• Cultural competency must happen in order to develop our social emotional competency. 
• We react or reflect to incoming information. We typically react when reflection can provide a way to confront our biases.​
